Julie and James on Wednesday and Matt and Dan on Thursday spent the day networking with other Lincolnshire business owners.

The team was delighted on the first day to be awarded the Doug Balderson Agriculture Entrepreneur Award for Innovation by the FSB, who interviewed all the FSB businesses exhibiting at the event. The judges were particularly interested in hearing about how DBS recently became an employee owned company. Julie is pictured receiving the award at the show.

The Lincolnshire Show is one of the leading shows in the county, and this year was the 133rd show.

DBS go back to school

Business Studies teachers at St George's Academy in Sleaford, Lincolnshire were posed with a problem when they were asked to deliver a module on digital marketing to their students.

"The academy teachers were very open with DBS when they contacted us to explain that it was going to be difficult for them to teach this module. They asked if DBS would step in as the experts. Of course we were happy to oblige." Said DBS's David Clarke

DBS get Cyber Essentials Certification

clip_image001Cyber Essentials is a government-backed cyber security certification scheme that sets out a good baseline of cyber security suitable for all organisations in all sectors.

The scheme addresses five key controls that, when implemented correctly, can prevent the majority of cyber attacks.

The certification process included an external vulnerability scan.

"The Cyber Essentials certification demonstrates to our clients and suppliers that we have taken the precautions necessary to reduce cyber risks. Many thanks to SJG Digital of Market Rasen for all their help" said Julie Priestley, DBS General Manager.
